BlueFish – an industry meeting point in the fishing hub Ålesund.

BlueFish is dedeicated the commercial fisheries industry and related segments as ship building and seafood processing industry. This exhibition in Ålesund offers Danish companies the opportunity to showcase their products and solutions to an audience of decision-makers, key buyers and stakeholders from the fisheries and fish processing industries from  Ålesund, seen as the fishing capital of Norway

The exhibition is attended by industry players and visitors from primarily the Ålesund area but also other important fishing hubs in Norway.

Ålesund is at the very top of the most important fishing hubs in Norway, and the fisheries and fishing processing industry account for a large share of value creation and turnover.

Many shipowners, seafood companys and other companies related to the fishing industry have head offices in the Ålesund region, making of the region an interesting potential market for Danish suppliers to the industries.

Norwegian fishing industry in brief

Norway is one of the leading fishing nations in the world and have a very strong position within fisheries and related processing industry and the Norwegian market thus represents an important and interesting potential for Danish suppliers to the fisheries and fish processing industry.

The Norwegian fishing fleet is modern and have a constant focus on innovative, efficient and environmentally friendly and sustainable solutions. These are areas in which Danish equipment/solutions suppliers excel and have strong expertise. The Norwegian fishing fleet has in recent years announced several new-buildings of top modern fishing vessels and factory trawlers and have intensified the focus on a fishing fleet with a minimized environmental footprint integrating environmentally efficient and sustainable solutions in new vessels. Focus also goes for more gentle fishing gear and handling solutions for the fish on board.

For the fish processing industry Norway has an ambition of maximizing value generation of the fish in Norway instead of sending this fish abroad for further processing. This however also requires massive investments to optimize the industry and building it into a competitive industry. A required transformation where Danish solutions and technology could also be part of the answer as Danish companies also have strong competences and technology to offer for optimization of the fish processing.

The focus of transforming the industry in Norway as a whole demands new and innovative technology and can open up for sales of Danish solutions and innovative groundbreaking technology.
