The trip is a 2-day market visit where the Danish companies will visit two biogas plants and participate in the exhibition “DEULA” in Rendsburg, which takes place on 21th of September 2023.

Biogas in Germany

Biogas is a central element in both the German and Danish supply chain. With almost 10,000 plants, Germany is the largest producer of biogas in Europe. The industry is changing, and many plants are looking for future trends. Both Germany and Denmark have ambitious climate goals, which require an expansion of renewable energy. Biogas and other gases from sustainable biomasses can make a significant difference. German and Danish companies are world leaders within the biogas industry and their expertise complement each other.

Program

  • Day one

    September 20th, 2023

     

    - Arrival at the first biogas plant late in the morning

    Together with the Landesverband Erneuerbare Energien Schleswig Holstein and companies from The Danish Biogas Alliance, we will visit two biogas plants:

    - Visit Biokraft Viöl and learn about the joint biogas plant from 2004, which is owned by 80 farmers, who deliver biomass to the plant. The plant has been extended and upgraded but still there is focus on how the plant shall be operated in the future. We will meet Suno Radtke, supervisor and chairman of the plant.

    - Networking lunch

    - Visit Bioenergie Gettorf from 2009, which is the largest gas storage facility and heating network in Germany. The plant supplies the local village with electricity via district heating and focus on extend the heat supply by connecting sectors like wind and solar energy. We will meet Martin Lass, owner of the plant.

    - Arrival at hotel in Rendsburg and dinner with networking dinner in the evening

  • Day two

    September 21th, 2023

     

    - Danish Export will have a joint space at the "Norddeutscher Biogas-Branchentreff in Rendsborg, which is a biogas exhibition with the possibility of meeting German stakeholders from all over the country. During the day, there will be an exhiting conferenceprogram next to the exhibition hall (NB: Expect German language speakers).

    You can bring a roll-up banner with branding of your company/technology for our joint area and we will make sure, that there is facilities and coffee for you, if you wish to have some talks/meetings with your network or potential stakeholders. 

    - End of program when the exhibition closes
