HavExpo is accomodating an increasing demand for strong industry trade exhibitions within fisheries, aquaculture and fish processing industries. This new trade event will gather stakeholders from the entire fishing industry under one roof.
Bergen is an obvious choise of location for this new trade event as the city and region of Bergen is an important hub for the fishing industry in Norway, where a number of important key players in the Norwegian fishing industry are headquartered.
A strong new meeting place for the industry
HavExpo is aiming to be the new must-attend trade event of the industry aiming to gather the expertise of the industry across segments of the fishing industry.
The ambition of HavExpo is to create a new efficient meeting point for the industry where important players and decision makers across the industry segments can meet and get insights in new technology and solutions and where industry professionals can draw on synergies of innovations as well as generate and exchange ideas accross the segments. HavExpo will obviously at the same time also be a traditional industry market place where exhibitors and visitors will establish new and nurture existing business relations.
Large players in both Norway and the rest of the world are consolidating their businesses becoming vertically integrated businesses operating wihin the entire value chain with fish farming (on sea/on land), fisheries with own fleets and fish processing facilities. This trend is emphasizing the relevance of a common meeting point for the industry such as HavExpo.
The Norwegian fishing industry - in brief
The fishing industry is among the most important industries in Norway with a value generation of close to 100 billon NOK.
Norway has a long term export target for farmed & processed fish of 550 billion NOK in 2050. To reach this target important development is required in particularly in the fish farming and fish processing segments and will require quite massive investments.
Optimization and expansion of the fish processing industry as well as expansion of the aquaculture industry are receving strong attention e.g many new land-based aquaculture facilities have been announced in Norway in recent years. This is an important shift from the sea based fish farming pre-dominant in Norway so far.
The fisheries industry in Norway is for its part strong focus on limiting the environmental footprint with environmentally efficient and sustainable solutions. The industry in other words look at transform the fishing fleet into a more environmental and energy friendly fleet, a transformation where Danish companies in particular have strong competences to offer.
The focus of developing the industry in Norway as a whole demands new and innovative technology and can open up for sales of innovative Danish solutions and groundbreaking technology.

** "De minimis rules"
As from 1 January 2014, companies receiving export-promoting subsidies have to complete a business form in which they specify the subsidies received under the “de minimis” rules. This includes all subsidies received in your current financial year and the two previous years. According to the Trade Council rules, companies themselves are responsible for obtaining the information from all subsidy-administrators.
