The Japanese shipbuilding industry

As the second largest ship owning economy in the world worth a total of 96,298 mio. US dollars (2020), Japan accounts for 11,4% of the world’s total dwt of vessels in 2020.

Japan has taken a number of different new measures to meet today’s market: the biggest shipbuilding enterprises are merging and forming stronger alliances, the Japanese government has plans of empowering the largest shipbuilding enterprises by merging them into one group, and in general, a lot of things are happening on the political and professional maritime agenda in Japan.

Your presence and being top-of-mind is key

Your presence at Sea Japan 2022 is more relevant than ever. Under the changing circumstances and Japan’s response to new business formations emerge and new ways of doing business arise. This means that many Japanese shipbuilding enterprises reconsider their ways of doing business, which includes an evaluation of current suppliers and business partners. The insecure surroundings call for reliable, stable, and high-quality business partners, and this is where you come into the picture: as a Danish maritime supplier, you have the benefit of a reputation that proves these exact qualities. Furthermore, as a Danish supplier you have the advantage of the trade agreement between EU and Japan as of February 2019, which only puts you in an even stronger position in doing business with Japanese shipbuilding enterprises.

Sea Japan 2022 is a unique chance for you to mark yourself and make sure to be top-of-mind in the Japanese shipbuilder’s decision-making process that involves many transformations in the years to come.
