Update from organizer Nov 2021
A NEW DATE AND A NEW VENUE IN 2022
Marintec China, the showcase event for the Chinese Shipbuilding and Maritime Industry, has today confirmed that the 21st Edition of the event will now take place from 28 June – 1 July 2022 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), NECC. This has been rescheduled from December 2021 on direct advice from the Chinese Government and key partners due to continuing COVID-19 public health concerns.
Marintec China remains always committed to delivering a high-quality event that will offer true value to all participants and we are optimistic about the future of the maritime industry.
The incidents of covid-19 are monitored closely and handled locally to make sure that daily life can go on as soon as possible. Therefor the Marintec China organizer and Shanghai crew are very confident to be able to provide a physical show with support from important and relevant visitors in December. There are no travel restrictions inside China unless if a local region is closed for 1-2 weeks due to new incidents.
Update from organizer on Aug. 25th
“As we mentioned, the “outbreak” in China was only around 20 cases in early Aug. Yes, some of the shows originally held in Aug is postponed to Sept but all resumed normal now. There were 6 cases in SH on 20 Aug but also back to zero on 22nd Aug, though yesterday had 2 cases in SH but they are not from new “virus chain”, it was from the close contact of the previous 6 cases”

China is by far the world’s largest shipbuilding nation
Already being a top player within shipbuilding China will turn its future focus on increasing the presence on the seas with an increased commercial fleet as well as an expansion of the navy. On top of this the inland waterways needs to be upgraded to assist in decreasing the environmental damages in the Yangtze and coastal areas.
Based on this China is very focused on developing their maritime industry in a balance between high growth rates and environmental concerns. This will take a growth based on technology development – an area where the Blue Denmark should become one of the main partners.
